Guided Hikes

Booking Cancellations and Amendments

We understand that circumstances may arise which require a cancellation of your trip. Please review our cancellation policy below:


Cancellation Policy - Guided Hikes

  • 7+ Days Prior to Scheduled Date:        100% Refund
  • 4 - 6 Days Prior to Scheduled Date:     70% Refund
  • 2 - 3 Days Prior to Scheduled Date:     50% Refund
  • Day Of:                                                             No Refund / Charged Full Amount


Modifications Made By Peak Pursuits

  - In the unlikely event due to unforeseen circumstances, Peak Pursuits reserves the right to cancel the event or make modifications to the tour content as deemed necessary.

  -In the event that Peak Pursuits chooses to cancel a scheduled event/tour, a full refund will be issued to the client(s).


Participant Agreement and Responsibilities:


1. Adherence to Rules:

  - Participants are required to abide by all rules and regulations set forth by Peak Pursuits. These rules are designed to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all clients and staff.

  - Any violation of rules may result in early termination of the tour as deemed necessary by the staff. 

  - In the case of early termination due to the aforementioned points, no refund will be provided by Peak Pursuits.


2. Compliance with Laws:

  - Participants must comply with all local, prefectural, and federal laws, as well as any regulations pertaining to the activities conducted during the tour.

  - Engaging in any unlawful activities during a tour is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate termination of the tour.

  - In the case of early termination due to the aforementioned points, no refund will be provided by Peak Pursuits.


3. Assumption of Risk:

  - Participation in outdoor activities such as hikes carries inherent risks, including but not limited to, physical injury and property damage.

  - By enrolling in Peak Pursuits hiking tours, participants and their legal guardians acknowledge and accept these risks. Peak Pursuits shall not be held liable for any injuries or damages incurred during the hiking tours.


4. Indemnification:

  - Participants and their legal guardians agree to indemnify and hold harmless Peak Pursuits, its staff, volunteers, and affiliates, from any claims, liabilities, damages, or expenses arising out of or in connection with the participant's involvement in the tour.


5. Medical Authorization:

  - In the event of a medical emergency, Peak Pursuits staff are authorized to seek medical treatment for the participant, including transportation to a medical facility, if deemed necessary. Participants' medical information provided during registration will be used for this purpose.


6.  Photography and Media Release:

  - Peak Pursuits reserves the right to use photographs and videos taken during camp sessions for promotional purposes. Participants and their legal guardians consent to the use of their likeness in such materials.


7. Traveler's Insurance and Visa Requirements:

  - All participants are required to obtain adequate traveler's insurance coverage for the duration of their stay in Japan. This insurance should include coverage for medical emergencies, trip cancellation, and personal liability.

  - Peak Pursuits does not provide traveler's insurance and is not responsible for any costs or losses incurred due to inadequate insurance coverage.

  - Participants are responsible for ensuring they have the necessary visas to enter Japan, if applicable.

  - It is the participant's responsibility to research and fulfill the visa requirements based on their nationality and the purpose of their visit.

  - Peak Pursuits will not be held responsible for any participant denied entry to Japan due to visa issues.


8. Health and Safety:

  - Participants should ensure they are in good health and physically fit to participate in camp activities.

  - Peak Pursuits is not liable for any injuries, illnesses, or accidents that may occur during camp activities. Participants are encouraged to take necessary precautions and follow safety guidelines provided by camp staff.


9. Acknowledgment:

  - By enrolling in Peak Pursuits guided hiking tours, participants and their legal guardians acknowledge that they have read, understood, and accept the responsibilities outlined in this policy.

  - Participants understand that failure to comply with these responsibilities may result in the termination of the tour without refund.

Camps

Booking Cancellations and Amendments

We understand that circumstances may arise which require a cancellation of your child's enrollment in our Kids’ Camp program. Please review our cancellation policy below:


Cancellation Policy - Camps

  • 14+ Days Prior to Scheduled Date:            100% Refund
  • 7 - 13 Days Prior to Scheduled Date:         70% Refund
  • 2 - 6 Days Prior to Scheduled Date:            50% Refund
  • Day of:                                                                    No Refund / Charged Full Amount

  - In the case of suspension or expulsion, no refund will be provided by Peak Pursuits.

  - Participants must comply with all local, prefectural, and federal laws, as well as any regulations pertaining to the activities conducted during the camp.

  - Engaging in any unlawful activities during camp sessions is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate dismissal from the program.

  - In the case of dismissal, no refund will be provided by Peak Pursuits.

  - Bullying, harassment, or any form of disruptive behavior will not be tolerated.


7. Early Departure From Camp:

- Participants may need to leave camp early for reasons such as illness, homesickness, poor behavior, family emergencies, or other unforeseen circumstances.

  - Peak Pursuits reserves the right to determine if a participant should leave camp early due to health or behavioral issues.

  - If a participant is required to depart early, it will be the responsibility of the parent or legal guardian to pick them up from camp.

  - No refunds will be issued for early departures or for participants arriving late and missing the departure.

  - Participants understand that failure to comply with these responsibilities may result in their exclusion from camp activities without refund.s, media mentions and other pieces of content that don’t fit into a shorter, more succinct space.
